Bad news for Nana fans: author Ai Yazawa responds on the status of the manga

by Harry Brown

For some time, the shojo manga sector was dominated by one project in particular, which at certain times even exceeded the sales of ONE PIECE. That manga is Nanaborn in 2000 and with a troubled publication, especially in recent years when there have been practically no chapters distributed in the magazine or elsewhere.

Nana is now 20 years old and more but most of these have been spent in a perpetual hiatus by virtue of the conditions of the author. Some voices from China wanted a return of Ai Yazawaunfortunately for the fans everything was denied by the mangaka, who participated in the recent issue of the Japanese magazine DaVinci Magazine.

On this magazine, of which Ai Yazawa has just edited the cover as you can see in the image below, the author stated that he is in no state to resume publishing Nana. The manga is therefore destined to remain on hiatus for an indefinite time, and without specific reasons on the part of the author.

Fans are therefore forced to put their hearts in peace for the future of this manga that will not return soon. The last published volume, both at home and in Italy, is 21 and dates back to 2009.
