Inspired by the angel Whis, during the fight with Jiren Goku managed to unlock a still primordial form of Ultra Instinct. In the course of the subsequent Dragon Ball Super sagas, the Saiyan then evolved his Ultra Instinct by mastering it in his own way. However, we haven’t yet admired the final form of this Goku transformation.
In the last Q&A released by Toyotaro for the Weekly Dragon Ball News, the author of Dragon Ball Super answered several questions about Goku’s Ultra Instinct. Over the course of the current saga of the manga series, Kakarot has used the form learned from Whis, but more often than not without the desired effects. Only at Vegeta’s suggestion, Goku stopped using the silver-haired version for readjust the Ultra Instinct to its Saiyan origins. In doing so, however, he has lost the typical calm necessary for the Ultra Instinct by stopping to follow the path marked by Whis.
Toyotaro made it clear that Goku hasn’t mastered Ultra Instinct yet, at least not in the way Whis had explained to him. While the angel uses Ultra Instinct unconsciously, even while sleeping and without any transformation, Kakarot is not yet able to replicate his master. The mangaka’s desire is to to see Goku approach that level. Therefore, if not in this saga, in the next narrative arc of Dragon Ball Super Goku will further develop Ultra Instinct, showing us the final form of this amazing transformation.
