ONE PIECE, the hybrid form of Kaido was very different at the beginning: the drafts of Eiichiro Oda

It’s been over a year since presentation of the hybrid form of Kaido in ONE PIECE. Oda made the emperor fight for a long time first in his human form and then in his completely bestial one, with the dragon version inflicting damage and pain far and wide. In the clash with Luffy, however, the hybrid one was necessary.

Hybrid form that has recently been unveiled in the ONE PIECE anime. Kaido presented himself in a similar way to his human form, but with many scales on the body that cover its shoulders, back, arms and even the upper part of the face, while other draconic characteristics are found in the claws of legs and hands, in the tail and in the horns on the sides of the head. But did you know that it wasn’t supposed to be that way initially?

In ONE PIECE: Road to Laugh That Chapter 2 was revealed the hybrid form of Kaido in Eiichiro Oda’s initial ideas. The mangaka had a shape in mind that would accentuate the dragon’s slenderness much more, giving Kaido a much more slender body and a longer neck. Below, in the tweet shared by Soulstorm, you can see the initial draft with the hybrid form of Kaido.

But if you like the current one much more, you can take advantage of this Kaido figurine in hybrid form.
