The ride of Tokyo Revengers continues incessantly. Ken Wakui’s work on thugs has in fact reached a new, incredible milestone. The manga series, published in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2017, reaches the monstrous figure of 65 million copies in circulation worldwide.
Although the anime was discontinued some time ago, Tokyo Revenegers’ popularity continues to grow. On the official Twitter account, the author Ken Wakui celebrated a great record: his manga is one of the most popular hits of the last period. A Tokyo Revengers manga spin-off about Baji and Chifuyu is also coming soon.
In the latest shared analysis, it was reported that the Tokyo Revengers manga has over 65 million copies in circulation. Of these, as many as seven were distributed outside of Japanese territory. The success is a continuous crescendo, considering that in September 2021 the series was stopped at 40 million and in January 2022 it had reached 50 million copies.
These numbers are destined to grow further, since at the beginning of the new year the anime adaptation will return. In 2023 the Tokyo Revengers Season 2 will debut, of which a first trailer is already available. Before its arrival, will the manga already touch the 70 million copies in circulation? It is too early to say, but surely the success of Toman and Takemichi is still in its infancy.
